Lovely Eyes

What is love?
I cannot say.
Is this love
I feel today?

No, I think not
That this requires
Such a strong word
To describe desire

Indeed, is love true?
It cannot be defined.
Each heart grows differently,
Yet it cannot be denied.

How can you name
Something that cannot be described?
Something so fleeting
Yet felt all the time?

Something to take your breath away.
Taken- Stolen- by the grin in his eyes.
And can you feel yourself laughing
At the beauty in his smile?

Can you feel your chest swelling
With what we call "love"?
Do you hear yourself thanking God
And all the angels above?

If so, then know this,
O thou seeker of hope;
Remember these words
When you're at the end of your rope.

All is not lost,
For love does live on.
It exsits in your heart
And in the lyrics of songs.

It resides in this poem
And in others besides.
But most of all, Love lives and thrives
In the gleam of his eyes.

So Smile

For how doth the moon and the stars pale in comparison to the ever-lasting sun of your lingering smile. <3

The Tree Swing's Sonata (The Church Bells are Singing)

Stars so bright
Spirits alight
Wonders untold
The beautiful night

That dazzaling child
So shy and so mild
A grown woman, she smiles
"It's been a while."

Her laughter rings
As the church bell sings
The small talk is idle
Down by that tree swing

From back when they were young
And could still play among
The others, together
As the church bells, they sung

Now older, they spend
Less time among friends
But together, reunited
They can talk to no end

About the silliest little things
Like the church bells, how they ring
About the times they spent together
Down by that old tree swing

Months later, still together
Mood still lighter than a feather
Joined together in their laughter
The two of them closer than ever

Silently, slowly, creeping
In comes these new feelings
And before they even know it
It's of the other they are dreaming

Of that girl with light brown hair
Her hazel eyes, so sweet and fair
Her soft pinks lips with wise, kind words
Of her smile and her laughter
And he realizes- He cares

To that girl, his heart, he gave
And with that gift he somehow saved
Her from herself, her enemy unforseen
His love made her strong; it made her brave

She sought him out at the old tree swing
Found him just as the church bell began to sing
Staring into his eyes, she sunk to one knee
And smiling at her, he pulled out a ring.

To Start Things Off...

Here's to makin' the new year count!!

Resolve to better yourself this year.

New Year resolutions mean nothing if you do not act upon them.

Smile! Second chances are born as the ball drops.
